the
band
Reharm, from within the walls of the K-W, has sailed alive with a compelling combination of rich jazz layers among mixed styles of rhythm, gospel, afrocentric beats and neo-soul. By melding hook-filled melodies within hard and heavy beats, this band of brothers show their ability to compact a vast array of influence and experience into various instruments and vocal arrangements.
With over 23 live performances spanning across 5 different cities, Reharm provides a different flavour of music separating them from the bands and music scene around them. The different combination of musical styles and techniques have allowed them to become a distinguished band in the K-W region as well as a fan favourite at the University of Waterloo and Wilfred Laurier University.
MEET THE CREW
DANIEL
Daniel is arguably the band’s biggest fan and hype man. He softly serenades with an afrocentric gospel sound on his alto sax but aspires to be a seasoned jazz professional. He also believes himself to be the lead singer of the band.
Daniel has always had a love for music, from being in an orchestra in high school to finally being a part of Reharm. Reharm has helped him bond with brothers, learn from them and develop himself in music and in life.
An actor in the making and an all-round a creative, Daniel, through music with Reharm, hopes to touch lives in a unique way, captivating them with melodies and intricate rhythms bringing a message of the gospel and hope.

fikayo
Fikayo is an engineer, pianist, singer and composer based in Ontario, Canada. His interest in music began at an early age and has become and insatiable quest. From the moment he got the opportunity to play, Fikayo has been playing in churches for over 15 years which helped form his playing style. He never really knew he would end up in a jazz world...he just sort of wandered into it.
As a young composer, his aim is to try to connect both intellctually and emotionally with his audience. His inspirations may be born out of life experiences or just a funny thought in his head.
Michael League, Cory Wong, Bill Laurence, Shaun Martin are among his biggest influences.

BAND LEADER - COMPOSER
paul
Paul Soladoye is an upcoming Nigerian saxophonist with a warm and colourful tone that can be experienced from his performances of Smooth Jazz, RnB and Afro Fusion.
He is gradually building a following on both Instagram and YouTube through the band Reharm and a couple of collaborations. In 2009, he started off playing the Alto Sax in High School occasionally.
When he moved to Canada in 2012, playing sax suddenly became an after thought due to perceived lack of progress. During this period, he picked up playing Keys and a little bit of Bass. He later found his passion for playing after listening to Kirk Whalum’s “Sunday’s Best”. Enamoured with the warm sound of the Tenor saxophone that Kirk plays, the Tenor Sax is his preferred instrument.

seyi
Seyi Alao is an Ontario based mercenary of music. He started playing the guitar at the ripe age of 19. Comically troublesome, his first experience with musical instruments came in 2014 when he fiddled his roommate's guitar, releasing such great noise to the irritation of his roommates. A friend volunteered to teach Seyi to save everyone from further nuisance.
7 years later, he has become a "must-hear" phenomenon with a unique approach to his music.
Seyi hopes to keep pushing musical limits and helping others transform their noise to music.

jeremiah
Self-proclaimed life of the band and harshly labelled the laziest, Jeremiah is a growing musician who applies his trade primarily on the drums. He dabbles in playing keys as well as bass and hopes to soon add guitar to the list. For a brief moment, he also ventured into alto sax but regrettably didn’t pursue.
Jeremiah’s first involvement in music was as a tenor singer in the school choir. Vocals are a skill he claims to have in his ‘musical bag’ although he rarely, if ever, showcases it. Inspired by the keyboardist at his former church, Jeremiah took piano lessons signalling his first foray into musical instruments. His natural sense of rhythm however sparked his affinity towards the drums causing him to focus there. Playing the drums came effortlessly and he hasn’t looked back ever since.
Reharm has been an outlet for Jeremiah to foster his talent alongside skilled and like minded people. It has also allowed him to explore different music genres he originally wouldn’t steer to, thus expanding his creativity. Even more, Reharm has helped create strong ties with a group he would describe as a brotherhood.
Influenced by his idols, the goal for Jeremiah is to provide a picture of elegance and imagination whenever you hear or watch him play.

Kola
Waterloo-based pianist and composer Kola Fakorede started playing the piano when he was 11 years old. Growing up in Nigeria, he found his passion for music and piano in church and has played the instrument for both church and school. He’s also played with a few gospel and jazz bands in Canada, including Reharm.
Kola’s musical style features a unique blend of modern jazz, gospel, RnB and hip hop. Comfortable with the pyrotechnics of experimental jazz as well as simple, minimal tone melodies, Kola hopes to push his musicality to the next level and unlock new ideas.

joshua
Joshua is a person who wears different hats doing other things besides music but when on the drums, he loves to draw his inspiration from his roots in Nigerian music as well as Gospel music.
His passion for music arose as a young child when his mother always took him for choir rehearsals at her church in Lagos, Nigeria. There, his interest in rhythm grew. Although he hasn't had much formal training in music, he's continued to self-train and grow astronomically.
Music with Reharm for him has been a way to create strong bonds with friends and to push each other to unlock creative potentials. He also just loves to create a great vibe during jamming sessions.
